When a tourist arrives on the island of Haiti, he's greeted with a spectacle that's inspired by voodoo.

But this creates an impression that is very far from reality.

The reality is that voodoo is a popular religion practiced by thousands of Haitians.

It consists of special rituals and undoubtedly contains some mysterious areas,

but the religion is not evil or dedicated to black magic as people have been led to believe.
